Used for grounding and utility applications. Commonly specified for grounding elctrodes, counterpoise grounding systems, utility grounding and overhead static or shield wire applications where permitted by the National Electrical Code (NEC). Also available with a camoflauge (theft-deterrent) finish or PVC covering. Availability of conductivity class, temper, steel core strength, and finish varies by size and specification. Utility Steel Strand

Guy, Static & Messenger Wire, Galvanized or Zinc-5% Aluminum Alloy Coated, 3 Strand, 7 Strand & 19 Strand – Steel

Commonly referred to as galvanized guy wire, it’s used for structural support and stabilization in electric utility and communications infrastructure including, pole guying, overhead static and ground wire applications, and messenger cable support. It provides high tensile strength and long-term corrosion resistance in outdoor environments. Galvanized (zinc-coated) strand is for reliable performance in standard utility installations, while zinc-5% aluminum alloy coated strand offers enhanced corrosion protection for coastal, industrial, and extended design-life applications.
